Slatwall Panels
Slatwall panels are the most widely used display product in the world. This is probably because slatwall panels are such a cost effective way of displaying products in a particular colour theme. Additionally the huge variation of slatwall accessories available means that there are very few products that cannot be displayed using slatwall.
Our slatwall panels are manufactured in the UK using 18mm MDF of the highest quality. This means they will look great for many years to come. The slatwall panel has a hard wearing melamine facing that is resistant to scratches and dirt. Slatwall boards are available in an almost unlimited amount of colours and finishes, we offer a good range of the most popular slatwall finishes and can source unusual finishes on request. By mixing slatwall panel finishes with different slatwall insert colours almost any colour theme can be achieved, ideal for creating your brand. Our UK sourced slatwall panels are far superior to many imported boards that have a much lower specification MDF and poor quality finish that will not last, all our slatwall panels are:
- Manufactured from UK sourced MDF (Medium density fibreboard) panelsMDF boards are Melamine faced and specified for deep routing
- MDF boards are routed to make the slots in the UK
The slatted grooves on the board are spaced 100mm which is the normal spacing, custom spaced grooves such as 50mm or 75mm are available on request.
The standard size of the slatwall panels is 2400mm x 1200mm, but to reduce delivery costs and make handling much easier we advise the half size 1200mm x 1200mm panels. The half size slatwall panels are made by cutting along the middle slat of a portrait slatwall board, therefore when they are put on the wall the join is completely hidden by the slatwall insert.
We offer a full range of slatwall inserts and strongly recommend their use, they will increase the weight loading of the slatwall panel accessories, create a nice finish and cover joins made in the slots and the wall fixings.
How to Install Slatwall Panels
1.The best way to fit slatwall panels to the wall is to first securely attach vertical battens to the wall spaced centre to centre 600 mm apart. The use of battens will make the joins between the slatwall panels much neater than attaching the panel direct to the wall, which will emphasis any unevenness in the wall.
2.If attaching the slatwall panel directly to the wall, you will probably want to use plastic H joining sections to cover the joints.
3.Before attaching the slatwall panel to the wall or battens, slide in the slatwall inserts into the slatwall board except for top, middle and bottom slot for half size boards and the top, middle bottom and two other equally spaced slots.
4.Screw through the exposed slots with counter sunk screws of the appropriate size into the battens so there should be 3 screws in each slot. there is no need to pre-drill before screwing to the battens and the most commonly used screw size is 3.5 x 25mm.
5.Clip in the rest of the plastic inserts into the slatwall panel, these will cover the fixing screws. If using Aluminium inserts these should slide over the screws, there needs to be access to the side of the panel to slide the insert into place otherwise they will need to be slid into place beforehand and pre-drilled before screwing the panel to the wall. Recently there are push in Aluminium inserts available to negate this problem.
6.If floors are not perfect it is best to set the panels at the high point to avoid having to cut each panel, if there is a small gap at the bottom this is rarely too visible due to shadowing.
Delivery of slatwall panels is expensive due to their size and weight, it is important to understand how they will be delivered before buying. Delivery will be direct from our UK supplier by pallet delivery company, as the boards are very heavy please make sure you have enough manpower available (at least 2 strong, fit individuals) to unload the boards as the driver is not responsible for unloading. Please advise beforehand of any road or access restrictions as delivery will be by large HGV lorry. Our delivery prices are for economy delivery, faster or timed deliveries are available for additional cost, please contact us if this is required. Deliveries are to businesses during normal weekday opening hours 0800 to 1730, you must advise us beforehand if nobody will be there to accept (and unload) the order, otherwise redelivery charges will apply. We strongly recommend you use the 1200 x 1200 half boards to save on delivery costs and make handling easier.
